The International Bamboo and Rattan Organisation (INBAR) is the only global inter-governmental development organization committed to reducing poverty and protecting the environment through the use of bamboo and rattan. With headquarters in Beijing, China and offices in India, Ethiopia, Ghana and Ecuador, the INBAR Secretariat supports its 43 Member States worldwide and has links with a large number of international, regional, and national organisations.
INBAR was established on 6 November 1997 and this year marks the 20th anniversary of INBAR’s establishment. To celebrate this occasion, we are going to invite about 400 distinguished guests to participate and organise a series of events during 4th – 8th November.
INBAR is currently seeking a number of experienced and highly capable Volunteers to help the working in INBAR in Beijing during 20th Anniversary celebration.
Responsibilities
Assist in receiving distinguished guests;
Accompany the VIP guests;
Assist in the general translation for the guests;
Collaborate with INBAR staff for events organizing on the date;
Provide support to direct guests to the right place at right time.
Requirements
University Chinese students major in English, French, Portuguese or Spanish;
Excellent foreign language skill in listening, speaking, reading and writing;
To be highly responsible, devoted, hard-working and able to work under pressure;
Good Communication;
Detail-oriented;
Well organised, and ability to organise their own work and work efficiently in order to meet deadlines and requirements;
Having the experience of organizing big scale events will be preferred.
